America is the new Rome in the sense that Rome has created the foundations for what the American society is today. While it is not a direct replica, there are many comparisons that can be extracted from our studied.

For starters, Ancient Rome was known for its overwhelming diversity amongst its citizens. Family heritage, languages spoken, and economic/social classes are some of the characteristics of this diversity in Rome. America sees a similar social structure in terms of the diversity seen amongst its citizens, which is supported in both nations by a corresponding strong system of government.

Another comparison between America and Ancient Rome is their position as being the most powerful nation in their times. America is known as the “peacekeepers” of the world. No one messes with America, because ultimately its wealth and resources are overpowering in comparison to other nations around the world. Rome, too, was a dominating superpower in their time. Both countries have some of the most advanced technologies of their time, which in turn helps them assert themselves as being stronger than other countries.

There are many comparisons between modern day America and Ancient Rome that could cause one to believe that America took after many of the beliefs of the Roman founders.
