Savagery

“The Illiad”, “Saving private Ryan “and “Storm of Steel” are all similar because of the way they portray battle. In these three works battle is shown as a very gruesome theme. The detail that is put in the scenes makes it seem authentic and allows readers to feel like they are there. As I read and watched the scenes it seemed as if I was there in the battle because of all the detail that was used. Making readers feel as if they are there is a good trait because it makes readers more interested in the work.  Although it is very gore is makes the pieces more intense and exciting to read.  This method is also good because it is telling an epic story and people are more likely to be interested in detailed epic stories rather than a boring story with no action. In “Saving Private Ryan” they use the effect of noise to make it seem more realistic. They zone in and out of the main character to show an overview and also show how it is from a single persons perspective. The works mostly concentrated on the savagery and detail of battle.  The way the works were written highlights the fact that they were real events that actually happened.
